Heavy rainfall accompanied by hail swept across parts of the UAE on Saturday, October 31, 2026, with Fujairah and Sharjah among the hardest-hit emirates, after the National Centre of Meteorology had forecast unsettled weather with a chance of rain and hail for the day.

Khor Fakkan, in Fujairah, was one of the areas most affected, with strong winds and reduced visibility reported along Khor Fakkan Road as water pooled on several stretches of the road. In Sharjah, rain and hail were recorded in areas including Al Madam, Al Fayah and Al Watan Street, while Masafi and Diftah in Fujairah also experienced rainfall.

The UAE's Ministry of Interior urged residents to stay away from valleys, flood channels and areas where water tends to accumulate. The warning was specifically aimed at drivers who might be tempted to cross low-lying areas at risk of flash flooding from overflowing wadis. Motorists were advised to reduce speed in affected areas and avoid driving through flooded roads altogether.

The National Centre of Meteorology continues to monitor conditions nationwide, with the possibility of further unsettled weather in the coming days. Local authorities have asked residents to follow official alerts through government communication channels and to call emergency hotlines if conditions become dangerous.

The rain comes after several recent spells of unstable weather across the UAE this year, prompting officials to repeat calls for caution while driving and staying clear of flood-prone areas during storms.
