British Airways has restored its London Heathrow to Dubai International service, flying the route again from 3 November after an eight-month suspension that began with the outbreak of the Iran war at the end of February 2026.
The first flight back, BA105, left Heathrow at 8.08pm local time on Tuesday and touched down in Dubai at 7.33am local time on Wednesday. The opening return leg, BA104, departed Dubai at 9.45am on Wednesday with a scheduled arrival in London at 2.36pm local time.
For travellers planning ahead, the key detail is frequency. The airline is running a single daily rotation between Heathrow and Dubai International for now, and intends to move to twice daily in summer 2027. Until that second rotation arrives, passengers on the route are working with one departure a day in each direction, which leaves limited flexibility for date changes, missed connections or peak-season bookings over the UAE winter and the spring school holidays.
Abu Dhabi is a different picture. British Airways' service to the UAE capital stays suspended until the winter 2027-2028 season, so anyone travelling to Abu Dhabi on the carrier will need to route through Dubai or connect on another airline for at least the next year.
The restart is part of a wider, and still unfinished, return of long-haul capacity to the Emirates. Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings are all due to resume on 25 November 2026, followed by Austrian Airlines on 12 December 2026. Singapore Airlines has set 28 February 2027 as its restart date, while Air Canada and KLM are both targeting the end of March 2027. Virgin Atlantic has the most distant date on the published calendar, with a return in October 2027.
The staggered timetable means UK and European travellers have more options from late November, and a materially wider choice from spring 2027. Those relying on a single carrier for a specific city pair, however, may still find the schedule thinner than it was before the suspension.
